INJECTING FRESH APPROACH TO REALIZE FULL POTENTIAL
ENGLISH DEPARTMENT REPORT
It is my joy and immense pleasure to also contribute to this year’s school magazine. As a department, we have made tremendous steps in ensuring that we help our boys in attaining our collective goal of 10.5 for this years’ group.
For this years’ candidate class, we have indeed gone an extra mile by injecting new approach. I thank the administration for the support especially for bringing assistant teachers who have been very instrumental in executing the weak students’ programs.
Over the years, we have seen steady improvement in the national examination. The following captures our performance over time.
The following are the members of the English Department , MRS. GIKANGA (H.O.D) LANGUAGES, MRS. MUNENE (H.O.S) GERMANY, MR. MAINA (HOS ENGLISH), MS. KATHURI, MRS. WANJOHI, MS. EUNICE, MR. MUKAYA, MR. MAINA, MR. JARED, MR. WAWIRE, MR. WANJUKI AND MS. MARGARET.
To bring forth this performance, the department has implemented various academic programs which have been taken positively by the boys. The programs include:
- Internal symposium
- Internal and external contests
- Facilitation for paper 101/1; 101/2; 101/3.
- Weekly revision papers in all forms
- Weekly examination for candidate class
- Early completion of syllabus
- Debate sessions to boost elocution
I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the members of the department for their commitment and the teamwork they have demonstrated. Indeed what we have achieved is largely due to your unique efforts and commitment.
